I am a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon passionate about medical retina. I have been based at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire since moving my consultant post from the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham in 2001. My past experience. I graduated and obtained my specialist certificate in Italy. I then spent two years of clinical and research fellowships in Medical Retina at Moorfields Eye Hospital, and St Thomas's Hospital, in London. Thereafter, I continued doing research at the University of Rome. On returning to the UK I worked as a registrar and took my fellowship exams in order to fully establish my career in this Country. In 2000, prior to taking my first NHS consultant post, I visited several American Universities where I consolidated my specialist knowledge. My key developments in the private sector. I have invested to bring state-of-the-art on-site digital retinal imaging and fluorescein angiography to private patients. I developed the photodynamic therapy (PDT) service for choroidal neovascularisation and age-related macular degeneration (CNV) at the Warwickshire Nuffield Hospital in Royal Leamington Spa, to serve the people of Coventry and Warwickshire. My key developments in the NHS. I have introduced leading edge diagnostic techniques in Coventry and Warwickshire like Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), Indocyanine Green Angiography (ICG-A).
